Generally in the springtime right around May long weekend people start to become more aware that swimsuit season is rapidly approaching. In an effort to look one’s best in less clothing many attempt the newest and quickest weight loss diet. People seem to brag much about how fast they lose weight when they start a new diet and rarely speak about the regain a little while later once they resume their old eating habits.
How many of us can relate to trying diets in an attempt to lose 15- 30 pounds or so? I can attest to dieting over and over again. What would you say if I told you losing weight is a matter of choice?
You can lose weight and keep it off permanently just by choosing to eat “whole” foods. Food that closely resemble the way they are found in nature such as; fruits, vegetables, low-fat dairy, lean protein, fats from plants and whole grains. I know we continually hear the message to eat whole foods but it really is that simple. You can start by eating more whole foods each day at each meal, reduce the amount of processed food, fat and refined grains. You will not only start to feel better but you will look better too.
It really is not about your weight. It is about your overall health. We are all uniquely special and are given a multitude of solutions to care for our bodies. The challenge is to know ourselves and seek the solution that is right for us at this moment in time. Turn within for guidance and the appropriate course of action will reveal itself. Everything we need to be healthy and happy is available to us right now.
Eventually you will measure success in terms of a healthier lifestyle instead of weight loss although weight loss is a side effect of a healthy life.
